Set skills you want to learn, pick a difficulty level, and Grow generates a weekly schedule with topics, quizzes, and progress tracking. Gamified from end to end. Built to guide self-learners through complex skills the right way.
The problem
Self-learning is a path problem, not a content problem. The lectures already exist. What's missing is order: what to learn first, what to learn next, and a reason to come back tomorrow. Most people start a skill, get three videos deep, lose the thread, and quit. There's no structure and no feedback loop telling them they're making progress.
What I built
- Pick a skill and a difficulty level. Grow plans the whole curriculum for you.
- Every week ships its own topics, quizzes, and XP, with a real progress graph you can watch fill up.
- The whole thing is gamified end to end, so finishing a week feels like clearing a level, not closing a tab.
- Built solo in Next.js with an AI schedule engine doing the planning behind it.
The point was never more content. It was turning a vague goal into a week-by-week plan a person can actually follow.
How it works
Next.js front to back. The core is an AI schedule engine that takes a skill plus a difficulty level and turns it into a structured, week-by-week curriculum, then attaches topics and quizzes to each week. Progress and XP are tracked per user so the graph reflects real movement, not vanity. Gamification mechanics, streaks, XP, and level-style weekly milestones sit on top of that schedule.
Outcome
Live, with a handful of self-learners actively running through skills on it right now. It's early and small on purpose. The thing I'm watching is whether the weekly structure keeps people coming back, because retention is the only metric that proves the idea, and that's the part I'm still tuning.
